What does a garage floor coating cost?

A garage floor coating is quoted by the square foot, but the system you choose — basic epoxy, a decorative flake floor, or a one-day polyaspartic — sets the range, and the condition of your slab decides where you land in it.

What moves the number
Two garages of the same size can price differently. These are the deciders.

Slab condition & moisture
Cracks, pitting, old coatings and moisture in the concrete all need addressing before a coating goes down — and that's where cost is added or saved.

Surface preparation
Diamond grinding gives the best bond and costs more than acid etching; the right prep is what stops a floor peeling in a year.

The system
Epoxy, flake or polyaspartic — plus the topcoat. Polyaspartic costs more but is UV-stable and back in service far faster.

Size & layout
Larger floors are more efficient per foot; a small single garage carries a minimum, and posts, drains and steps add detail work.

Colour & flake
A solid colour is simplest; a full flake broadcast with a custom blend and more topcoat sits at the higher end.
