Limewash

A traditional, breathable lime paint with a soft, chalky matt and a gentle movement of tone. Brushed on by hand, limewash gives walls a living, hand-made depth — colour that shifts quietly with the light, never flat.

What Limewash Is

Limewash is a mineral paint made from lime, brushed on in thin, translucent coats that build a soft, cloud-like depth. It is breathable and vapour-permeable, which makes it kind to older walls and to humid climates, and because the colour is mineral, it ages gracefully rather than peeling. Every wall carries the hand of the person who applied it.

Where It Works

  • Interior walls and ceilings
  • Bedrooms and living rooms
  • Older and breathable substrates
  • Plaster and masonry walls
  • Feature and accent walls

Where It Doesn't

  • Exterior weather-exposed walls
  • Wet rooms without the right system
  • High-abrasion, high-traffic surfaces
  • Over glossy, sealed or unstable paint

Our Process

  1. Consultation & sample

We visit the space, agree the shade and depth, and make a hand-brushed sample in your light.

  2. Priming

The substrate is prepared with the right primer so the limewash keys and cures evenly.

  3. Brushed coats

Thin, translucent coats are brushed on by hand, building the soft cloud-like movement.

  4. Cure & protect

The lime cures and, where wear or moisture demand it, the surface is sealed.

Installing in South Florida

Limewash and Miami are a natural fit — lime breathes, manages humidity, and cures by drawing carbon dioxide from the air. Our team plans application and curing around the local climate.
