Marmorino plaster

The depth of stone, the softness of light
Where paint sits flat on a wall, marmorino has movement in it. Each coat is pressed and polished so the marble in the plaster catches the light differently as you cross the room — a quiet, mottled depth that photographs as calm and reads, up close, as hand-made. It is a mineral finish: lime-based, breathable, and tinted through the body rather than painted on top, so the colour lives in the material instead of on its surface.
Applications

Feature walls
A single polished wall that anchors a living room, headboard or stair — the finish most clients start with.

Whole rooms
Every wall in marmorino for an enveloping, seamless shell, with no corners breaking the colour.

Ceilings
A polished ceiling that carries the same soft sheen overhead, catching daylight and lamplight.

Hospitality & retail
Lobbies, restaurants and boutiques where a hand-applied surface sets the tone at the door.

Venetian plaster · Marmorino
Marble dust and lime, polished by hand until the wall holds light like stone.
The Benefits
- A mineral, lime-based finish tinted through the body of the plaster
- Hand-trowelled and burnished for a soft, stone-like sheen
- Seamless across a wall — no panel lines and no repeats
- Breathable, so it suits Miami's older lime and masonry walls
- Colour matched to your scheme from a hand-made sample
- Repairable and re-polishable in place rather than stripped and replaced
Where It Works
- Interior feature and accent walls
- Whole living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms
- Ceilings and stair walls
- Lobbies, restaurants and boutique retail
- Powder rooms and dry-to-lightly-damp spaces, with the right sealer
Where It Doesn't
- Wet-immersion areas like shower walls — that is tadelakt's territory
- Floors and other high-traffic, high-wear surfaces
- Full exteriors and façades exposed to driving rain
- Kitchen splashbacks directly behind a hob without a protective sealer
Our Process
- 01
Sample & colour
We make a hand-trowelled sample in your own light and colour before anything goes on the wall.
- 02
Prepare the wall
We skim and prime the substrate flat, because marmorino shows every ripple beneath it.
- 03
Trowel & burnish
Thin coats are applied and polished by hand, building the mottled depth coat by coat.
- 04
Seal & protect
A breathable sealer is chosen for the room's exposure to hands, damp and cleaning.
Installing in South Florida
Miami's humidity is kind to lime. Marmorino is a breathable, mineral finish, so it lets a wall release moisture rather than trapping it behind a film — which is why it sits comfortably on the older lime-plastered and masonry walls found across Coral Gables and the Grove. In genuinely damp rooms we match the sealer to the exposure so the surface stays easy to wipe down.
