Microcement bathrooms

A seamless, grout-free bathroom in warm mineral microcement — over your existing tile, often without demolition. Walls, floors and showers, all one continuous surface.

The bathroom, without a single grout line.

Microcement turns a bathroom into one continuous, tactile mineral surface — walls, floor and shower flowing together with no grout to scrub or discolour. Because it's a thin coating that bonds over sound existing tile, a microcement bathroom is often achieved without ripping the old one out, for a calmer, more contemporary, hotel-like room.

The Benefits

  • Seamless and grout-free — nothing to scrub or discolour
  • Often applied over existing tile, without demolition
  • Warm, tactile, contemporary mineral finish
  • One continuous surface across walls, floor and shower
  • Custom colour, integral to the surface
  • Easy to keep clean once sealed

Where It Works

  • Over sound, well-bonded existing tile
  • Showers and wet rooms, as a waterproofed system
  • Floors, walls and vanity surrounds
  • Powder rooms and family bathrooms alike
  • New builds and renovations

Where It Doesn't

  • Loose, drummy or badly cracked tile needs fixing first
  • Underlying damp or movement must be resolved before starting
  • The correct sealer for a wet area is essential
  • It's a skilled, hand-applied finish — not a DIY job

Our Process

  1. Assess & prepare

We check the existing tile and substrate, resolve anything loose or damp, fill grout lines and prime.

  2. Waterproofing

Wet areas are waterproofed as a system before the microcement, detailed for the shower and floor.

  3. Base & finish coats

Base coats over reinforcing mesh, then the fine finish coats worked to your colour and texture.

  4. Seal for the bathroom

Sanded smooth and sealed with a tougher topcoat chosen for water, cleaning and daily use.

Installing in South Florida

In Miami's humidity, a bathroom works hard. Microcement is a breathable mineral finish, and sealed correctly it stands up to the moisture and cleaning of a Florida bathroom — with the waterproofing always handled as a system.

Cost

$26$34

per sq ft

Bathrooms sit at the higher end of the microcement range — small areas, waterproofing detail and more labour per foot. See the full cost guide for how it breaks down.
